Art Van Furniture donates $100,000 to Flint

FLINT, Mich. (WOOD) – Today as part of The Flint Water Crisis: For Our Families Telethon individuals, organizations and businesses are donating money to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund.

One business that has been a part of the relief effort for the past months. Today, the family owned business, Art Van Furniture has donated $100,000 to the fund.

As an added bonus, all donations today will be matched by Tom Gores and FlintNOW up to a total of $1 million dollars.

Over the last two months Art Van Furniture has collected and distributed over 2 million bottles of water. On top of that, Art Van has donated a hundred thousand dollars in hours worked and use of the trucks needed to distribute the water from across the Midwest to Flint.

Television stations across the state of Michigan have teamed up together to get the word out about the telethon. As of 6 P.M., donations have reached over $350,000 dollars.

Viewers are encouraged to make donations to the Foundation of Greater Flint by calling 844-FLINT-KIDS (844.351.6854) or by visiting the organization’s website.
