Worthy of glorifying: Britney Spears is encouraging fans to donate to relief efforts for victims of disastrous flooding in her native Louisiana. And if do-gooding isn’t satisfying enough (it should be, though!) there is some extra incentive.
Spears, who’s set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 28), has arranged a donation page via CrowdRise through which fans can contribute $10 to the American Red Cross. Collections will help area residents find shelter and food and will offer support for nearly 2,000 Red Cross volunteers who have traveled to the area to help.
Each simple donation is also an automatic entry to win either a trip to for two to New York City to meet Britney before her VMA set (you get to stick around for the show too), or the outfit Britney will wear while performing (coupled with an autographed copy of her forthcoming album, Glory).
The submission period for the first prize is open until August 25, and the second will remain open until September 1.
